My career began in adult mental health support, where I worked in residential settings. I then became a member of support staff in various schools across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight - it was there I realised that emotional and mental health support, on a 1:1 basis, was the thing that made me ‘tick’. This lead to me take the step of training to become a counsellor, and I haven’t looked back since.
Background:
Once upon a time, I was a film graduate and a musician, so my brain works in quite an audio-visual way. I love a metaphor and an analogy, and I believe there is always a space for a little chuckle here and there in counselling - so I like to think I have a sense of humour too (although that may be subjective!)
